What's up 3rd gen guys! I have threads on both the 1st and 2nd gen forums about this alignment kit and with the release of our new 3rd gen kit I figured it was time to make a thread here!

In short, I have been developing a pretty solid alignment kit for our trucks. I know of the other similar kits but they all have some issues I couldn't look past.

If any one is interested I sell them on my website:
    https://kpoffroad.com/product/best-alignment-cam-upgrade-kit-cam-eliminator

All alignment kits have free shipping :)

I also offer you all 10% off when using the code "TWAlignment" (without quotes).

If you want more info about my kit then keep reading or leave a comment :)

    How Does Our Kit Differ?
Development began over a year ago when we saw a need for a solid alignment kit that 1) wouldn’t roll around like the OEM cams, and 2) had more than 3 adjustment options like some other similar products. We found many trucks we worked on would benefit greatly from having more alignment options. This would allow for better stance and longer tire life.

    Enter the Octagon!

By using an octagon we were able to allow for 5 points of alignment without compromising durability! One of the many awesome properties of an octagon is opposing parallel sides, so much like a square you will still have 2 solid sides contacting the cam tabs.

We designed these octagonal cams to be a drop-in option for your truck meaning they do not require any modification to the frame.

    Weak Cam Tabs
We found these alignment cams to be great for any light to moderate offroading, but in extreme crawling or prerunning cases we noticed the OEM cam tabs would start to bend! We decided to take it a step further and develop a complete upgrade for the cam tabs.

Our cam tab upgrade kit is laser cut out of 3/16″ steel plate ensuring tight tolerances and high strength. This kit will require grinding off the old cam tabs and welding these in their place.

Our cam tabs can be used with the OEM round alignment cams but for best results should be paired with our octagonal alignment cams. With these 2 options you should never pop out of alignment from slipping or rotating alignment cams again!

    Proper Bolt Shanking
Another key point many other alignment options disregard are properly shanked bolts.

Bolt shanking is critical for ensuring your alignment tab holes do not start to wallow out over the years. Under shear load (see the illustration), the bolt experiences force perpendicular to its axis. Bolts with proper shanking will provide tighter tolerances and with the absence of these stress concentration points will increase the bolt’s performance and lifespan.

All bolts offered in our kit are properly shanked for a precise, tight, and long lasting fit.

    Holding it all Together
Many similar kits use a nylock nut to hold everything together. As you may know there is not a ton of room between your alignment cams and expensive steering rack. Nylocks perform fine however they are thick and only one-time use items. Any time you remove your nylcok nut you should replace it. For these reasons we opted to go with Stover nuts.

Stover lock nuts are a one piece, all-metal prevailing torque hex nut with a conical top and a flat bottom bearing surface with chamfered corners (great for reducing damage to steering racks when installing). The locking action, created by distortion of their top threads, is said to be capable of withstanding severe vibration and shock loads. The physical size is also smaller than that of a nylock so you will have clearance between the nut and your steering rack.

Any kit using a nylock will not properly fit between the LCA mount and the steering rack. Probably the greatest benefit of the smaller Stover nut is that will be able to flip the LCA bolt around, making it possible to remove your LCA’s without unbolting your steering rack!

    Alignment
If tire life is a concern for you then you will be very pleased to know that our kit will align your truck well within the factory specifications! Being within factory spec ensures you will stay on the road and get longer life out of your tires and suspension!

    Longevity

I drove around on 37's with this kit. I never had a single issue with bumping out of alignment and if I wasn't SASing I would be running it forever! Of all the suspension components in my truck, this was the most solid and reliable haha.

You say it gives us more adjustment. Future apology maybe a dumb question, but can this help eliminate tire rubbing on cab mount?

The GX 470 matches the 2nd gen Tacoma but overall it all does the same thing. The bolt sizes and cam diameters are different between the 2.

Not any more than factory, just more adjustment points than a square kit. This kit can't go any further than the factory cams as the frame of the truck won't allow it. If your tires are rubbing I would look in to a BMC, pinch weld clearancing, or going to an alignment shop familiar with oversized tires.

That should help. Our kit locks in the alignment, so once you set it you shouldn't have any issues popping out of alignment in the trails.

Since those work with the factory round boys I’m assuming your octagon version would work with total chaos cam tabs. They look similar.

Not sure if you’ll know that or not.

If the factory round boys fit in the TC tabs then yes, it will work! I know our 1st gen kit works with all cam tab kit brands, I don't know why the 3rd gen would be any different. We made the octagons the same diameter as the factory cams so everything would play nice.

The only cam tab upgrade kit I know has issues is the Marlin Crawler one. If you clearance it before you install it everything will work but if it's already welded to the frame it won't.

I can vouch for these tabs. I have a couple of folks in my crew that run these with no issues.

I do have a question for the OP, how come no one sells these with the locking tabs welded to the plates?

Is it just a pain in the ass time consuming job.
