I have a 2023 Tacoma and it's the worst vehicle I've ever owned. Bought it new and couldn't test drive because none were available. I had a 2009 Tacoma and wish I still had it.

    Issues:

1)Transmission is unresponsive when trying to accelerate

2)I'm only 5'10" and I have the seat set to the lowest point and can't get into the vehicle without hunching over and still scraping my head. This vehicle is designed for midgets.

    3) The center armrest lid opens straight back instead of to the side like the old Tacoma. You have to be a contortionist to access inside of it.

    4) Climate control changes on it's own so I have to constantly monitor if it's on defrost or not.

    5) Collision warning system is useless. It beeps when it's already too late and you're going to hit something. I turn this function off and it still beeps

    6) Wipers don't come on all the time when the washer fluid is used.

    7) The doors won't lock periodically.

    8) The gas pedal is quite stiff and is not comfortable to use when accelerating.

I'm hoping someone steals my Tacoma so I can get a different vehicle.

This truck has taken the joy out of driving. What were the designers/engineers thinking when they put this truck on the market? They should all be fired, including the people approving this truck for sale.

Mine has been trouble free. The front plastic bumper and gasoline door fitment issues are kind of ass, but I can’t be bothered to do anything about it.

5'10" and you cant get in the truck? Try stretching or losing weight.

    This fucking guy again

In 4 years with my 2020 I've experienced none of the issues you mention, and I'm taller than you.

Only aesthetic mods so far Leer 180 cap & Clazzio covers on order.
I trust that you took one out for a test drive before signing anything. It didn't have to be the one you wanted, but at least you'd have some idea what to expect. caveat emptor dude.

Have experienced the exact opposite, my truck has been the best vehicle I've ever owned...but I'm coming from owning jeeps so it's hard to get worse than that...I also extensively researched the Tacoma before I even went and looked at one so I knew most of the "issues" going into it. I agree it's not everyone's cup of tea but I like the flavor.

You could have test driven the actual truck you were buying BEFORE signing.

You could have sat in any 16-22 for a body fit. You must have short legs and a long torso.......

    GLWS.

Your 6 posts filled with whine here will do nothing for your problem, not even getting you a bottle of Cheese Whiz to go with the whine.

Can't disagree with that, I'm 6' and I demolish my skull on the roof every time I get in it (I don't drive it often).

I believe that issue was specifically addressed with the 4th gen.

Also my 4Runner should be pretty similar to your 09, let me know where you want to meet up and we can trade.

“I ordered these pants, and they don’t fit, Now i hate all pants”

Seems like a self inflicted wound, prior research would have enlightened you to the known issues. All have remedies, but all cost $ too.

Simple test drive, or rental of same truck for a few days would have been the best bet.

We will give advice to those who seek it but you are also burdened with researching issues yourself too. We all know/have the same “issues”, either fix the issues or trade it for a different truck?

P.S.- i have a 2010 4x4 6 speed in my driveway collecting dust, maybe we can trade?
