I would say disappointing results. I believe that the guy's gave it everything they had and actually had the speed to podium, it just wasn't in the books today. It appeared that they gave everything they had judging it by the number of falls.

Thanks to Team USA for doing their best today. Next Year!!

Glad those guys stepped up and went to race for USA. Still thought the result was disappointing, even with it not being our top team. But that's how it goes. I wish that race was a higher priority for the USA. There is always drama with the schedule, picking the team etc.

With all the reviews of Stark being so positive and a pretty successful debut of Hondas electric CR over the weekend, we could see things changing in MX very quickly. I know a few guys that have ridden the Stark and said it will make you a hero lol. I sort of want one now.

I think we still have a pretty big gap to close between current manufacturers, the used market, and elec catching up with production. I would like to ride one of the elec bikes and see what they're all about as well.

All I know is Pastrana showed up at a local race with 2 Starks and was praising them like crazy. And they are starting to pop up now, in the hands of ppl. A dealer has been demoing them at a private track near here and a few of my friends have ridden it and said it's unreal. 2 of my friends have them on order now. For a non-conventional brand to debut a bike and be that universally praised, just seems crazy. But the handling and power seem to take that bike to another lever. And then to see Honda's prototype pulling massive holeshots over the weekend (and would've won w/o the crash.) For mx at least (where range is not as important) these bikes are going to be killing it for the average consumer. It'll probably be a little bit until most pro racing figures out what to do about them, but these things are game changers, for general consumers, for better or worse. I certainly am not all about Electric or EV's in general but just calling it how I see it in regards to the Stark and Honda so far.

What’s the range like on them? Can the batteries make it a whole supercross race?

Yes. My buddy races pro SX and MX and he just rode one last week, for part of a photoshoot that we were doing. He got 35ish minutes out of it. On a deep tilled PA track that is very fast. So a SX would be no problem. MX National moto would probably be about as long as I would expect it to go before being totally drained. Can't say yet on the Honda but the bike finished it's races this weekend w Canard riding it.

Josh Hill has a stark. His latest youtube from last week had the stark and his yamaha 450. He mentioned that he got 21 hard minutes out of the stark until it gave him a power cut. This is the first wave of e motos. I'm sure they are going to be amazing after they have been out for 5 years. It seems like every year something better, faster and lighter comes out.

Only electric moto that I have is a little surron. It kills the ttr-125 that my chick rides. She likes it more than her bike. I just love it is just a battery charge and chain maintenance. Buzz around the neighborhood at night, laps in the back yard, hit up the local fire roads. NO ONE hears me being an idiot. I get about 20 miles out of the charge. I'm pretty toast after a pitter kicking me for 20 miles. No gear shift and my rear brake on the handle bars take a while to get used to. I still love my 2 stroke and 350 ,but why not own it all.

Ya the range right now is still only borderline acceptable. I woukd like to see that get better and maybe the weight drop. As far as performance, there are a lot of people saying power and handling is already as good or better than any 450 on the market. And thats even with the Stark toned down to around 60hp. So the performance is there. No clutch, gears or shifting. The chassis stays settled and has instant power that is wildly adjustable. I am not sure I trust that the company will stick around, similar to Alta. So it'd be hard for me to drop $14k with that looming. But I think these Stark reviews are going way better than I expected. And now that Honda already is showing they are serious, it's only a matter of time before we have options. I agree, my 125 and 250Fs will not be going away but I'd like to eventually add an electric if they are this good.

I've been thinking about getting back into photography and trying out the video side of things. Does he ever ride at budds creek?

Not disagreeing with you entirely, I just think we have a ways to go still before they are norm. We've also got x2 new factory moto bikes entering the mix (Beta and Triumph) with a third on the way (Ducati).

Are you referring to my friend that I mentioned? If so, yes, he does the National and may ride down there other points in the year, since they are usually open when weather is bad up here in PA.

For sure. Regular ICE bikes will be around for a while. I was just making a point that things are in motion now, a lot more than when the Alta was around. The Stark stepped it up and Honda already putting up some competition means that it is coming. But for sure ICE will hopefully be around for a long time too. It's really cool to have 3 more OEMs/Teams in the mix, like you said. I never would have thought that we would see that.

I definitely want to ride the CR. Trey was absolutely ripping on it - I also found it very "production bike"-like that it wouldn't start again after he crashed.

I know the one time he got tangled with Jay and it messed up the controls. The other crash was a low side and the bike just said fug this I'm out lol.

Edit: meant prototype-like. Not production. Whatever you get what I mean :burp:

Ya I guess it has a tether, similar to a racing ATV and he supposedly lost it so it wouldn't run.

But having that is a good idea. In the Nick Wey ride on the Stark he mentions that it's crazy that it has so much power and no clutch incase the throttle sticks or it gets away from you. So maybe the tether is Hondas answer to that. But apparently that was lost or broke in the 1crash lol.

Which guys will be out for injury. Webb, Tomac, Roczen? Who else?
I’m going to go out on a limb and say Jett wins the 450 championship.
    Hopefully Sexton keeps it interesting.
I think Deegan will win the 250.
