They still offer close to 30K on my 2015.

[and second gens in nice shape are still better then the first couple years of the third gen with the 3.5 and 6 speed simply because the combo sucked due to stupidly high gearing and a car engine that likes to makes it's power higher up.

Actually just a couple months ago I read an article where there were record numbers of repossessed personal vehicles. The highest since they started keeping track of that, in the same article also commented on how most of the new autos are sitting 2-3x as long on the lot. According to the article used car buyers paid a 25% premium during that craziness over what the same aged/condition vehicle would sell for in todays market.

The smart people didn't buy cars during that period of craziness, now they're the ones who are able to take advantage of a 180 shift in the auto market.

I have 3500 miles on it.

    20240323_184508.jpg

This is the underside of it.

    Want to still call BS?

Would anyone here pay 30K for it?

This was the underside of my 20+ year old Mustang.

Want to see the underside of my 31 year old Miata?

Poor truck. Probably needs some TLC if it's been sitting so long.

If OP’s is worth 100 yours is worth 350-450 tops. Hell I’ll even go above market and offer you a whopping 500.
    :spending:

3500k might be one of the lowest mileage 2nd gens out there.

I went to webuyanycar and they offered me 37.5k for my 2023 SR5 with 28k on the ODO. That's 2k less than the sticker price almost 1.5 years ago.

Just for fun I just went to Carvanna and they offered me 9,600 for my 2006. I would consider double that...IF I actually wanted to sell.

Wow, interesting to hear that. Makes sense, been seeing what seems like to me, may not be the case though, are auto-wreckers/small town trucks towing more cars on dollys in some areas where I work. I’ll have to read up on what’s happening.

Many folks have plenty of money.

Most of them like the adage 'debt is the enemy'

Just because one can finance something doesn't mean they should.

I am about to pay 27K for a 2015 4.0 6spd stick access cab with 90k miles, bone stock truck from South Carolina. Cash for half, finance other half. It hurts, quite a lot, but if I need a truck that I don't have to worry about, that's what I'm going to pay, unfortunately.

Good grief, good luck man. Remember that thing is 9 years old now, look it over with a fine toothed comb.

I'd be looking really hard at different options for that kind of cash. How much extra are you paying for someone to even finance a vehicle that old?

Edit: there are late model 4.0 Frontiers around me (NC) for $13-15k, just FYI.

This right here. Debt does not equal wealth. The wealthiest guy I know who is worth probably $100 mil+ drives a beater 1999 Corolla and dresses like a broke version of Ned Flanders. At least he's a Toyota guy haha

Most wealthy folks understand the concept of time value of money and how powerful compounding interest really is, especially in both directions. Debt is the enemy for sure, especially as interest rates rise to force people to come down off the sugar high of cheap money we've seen over the last decade

I told everyone that I could summer of 2020 to buy a new car because they were practically giving them away. I bought a new GTI for thousands less and got a zero interest loan. I still have the Tacoma and my only regret during this time is not buying a 4Runner. The smiles from the GTI are hard to beat though.

I'm switching from 3G to 2G. This has been interesting because I am getting straight faced garbage trade offers everywhere (compared to, apparently, everyone else here), while they're showing me a 2013 SR5 with 175,000 miles and a rusty frame for $26,000 as they preach about the iron clad resale of Tacomas. For reference, I'm getting offers that are $12k under the high option/low fluff sticker I paid a year and a half ago on a highly desirable combination. All you guys getting over MSRP buy offers should come here, buy up inventory, and take back to your locale for massive fun and profit!

Car salesmen and real estate agents...I don't know what we would do without them. I mean, basically the rebar keeping modern society from crumbling..

It's just crazy that unlike a lot of other vehicles, certain years of Tacomas just seem to appreciate in value.

I bought a stock 2014 AC 4.0L 6spd manual 4x4 for $25K w/ 62K miles on it, first owner, no accidents, all service records, in Fall 2021.

Your pictures and what you think your truck is worth mean nothing, you are avoiding answering,Carvana never offered you 30k for a 9 plus year old truck .
