    Is the rust shown in the attached images cause for concern? 2008 Tacoma with 200K km

    Yeah i would try to clean that up and start using fluid film religiously

    We had a shop refuse to complete an insurance inspection because of this rust, does that seem reasonable?

    Is this what the frame recall repair would look like, obviously before the rust started? I am just wondering if the layers of steel where the rust has started is factory or recall repair?

    The problem you have there is that corrosion has started in between the laminated sections of the frame. As the corrosion progresses, it expands and pushes the sections apart - as you can clearly see in the pictures. No amount of wire brushing, media blasting, etc. is going to remove all of that corrosion because much of it is impossible to get to. As for Fluid Film stopping it, as much as I love that product, there's simply no way it's going to stop that mess. The ship has sailed on that frame.
