Been a ford engine mechanic for 35 years retired last year, bought a tacoma.
I cant decide on the westcott 2 1/2" collar lift or the peak suspension 2 1/4" lift.
Im thinking just installing the front part of the lift as the rake on my truck is ridiculous.
ide rather have the front slightly higher than have any rake, atleast thats what im thinking at the moment.
Will just be a grocery queen.
Had some ceramic tint thrown on the front side windows & considering the windshield.
Ditched the snow plow & front plate holder, filled the front plate screw holes with some push pins.
I have no idea what to do with tires at this point & may wait as cant see myself throwing money at it when tires are new, that may change.
Dont care to do anything crazy as this truck moves, very impressed with the pep in its step.
Especially after hearing how everyone whines how lethargic the previous gens are.

May just go up to a 265/70/17 32"? which is stock tire on the offroads....
Most guys & dealers are starting to equip them with 285/75/17 33".
Some Methods would be cool & doable but stock wheels actually look somewhat decent for a stock wheel, may powdercoat black...
Thought it was really dumb for toyota to decide they couldnt keep the wheels the same color as previous gen "black" so they went to gray.
We'll see, lots to think about.
If 51 & feel like im a kid again, thinking about mods, thought that was behind me at this point....
I had not planned on getting the upgrade package. I had a basic sr5 reserved but 2 dealer systems had contradicting info, one screen states will be here in a week, other screen stated not built yet.
They called when this upgraded white sr5 2wd came in & offered it to me.
Has heated seats, heated wheel, rear window slider, blaked-out emblems, running boards, rubber floor mats, mudflaps, credit-card key, soft open tailgate, etc...
I can care-less about heated seats / wheel, rear window slider is useless as far as I can think of at the moment.
On the fence on what to do with the JBL system, install a beatsonic plug & play inline piggyback amp or upgrade everything.
Theres a local gal here in san diego & were suppose to meet-up so I can hear her beatsonic amp upgrade for her jbl system.
She thinks it was a great upgrade & has no interest in a real subwoofer.
Think the system would sound much better if it had a decent sub, thats where its lacking.
Also had a local guy in san diego use my truck to 3d scan the entire frame & body, interior also so they have data to make their skid, sliders, etc...
So it will have rock sliders w/o a top-plate, & a front skid plate.
    So thats in the works..
Rake looks extra ridicilious in the pics, its all I have at the moment.
Please comment, critique my thoughts, make suggestions, not sure if anyone here has already modd'ed a 2wd sr5 suspension.....

You have no idea, last 5-10 years has been a journey,
Dont let me get into the ecoboosts in the trucks & even cars, they have killed me....
Nothing good has come of it except filling my wallet.
I tell everyone dont buy a turbo motor....
Ford cant keep a head gasket intact under a head when it comes to the 4 cylinder turbo engines, the 1.5L, 1.6L, 2.0L, 2.3L mustang, etc...
    Its endless...
Then the theres the cam phaser issues....
Yes, I only saw the bad but from what ive seen, its made me paranoid & its all bad in my mind...

Not really a mod but thought ide share...
If you swing your door open into something the first part that will make contact & possibly chip the paint is lower part of the door as it extends further than the top.
I like the low profile of the factory toyota door edge guards & when deciding to continue down the door toyota said $170 for the kit, no thanks.
The toyota pieces arent really worthless but dumb of the to not extend them the full length of the door. Not sure why they didnt as doesnt look bad by doing so...
As a ford tech we had an outfit that was on the lot most days adding trim to doors & I could have sourced him but his guards are way bulky / thicker profile.
Ordered some off Amazon & sent them back as they were bulky.
Second option worked-out, color doesnt match perfectly but over im more than just stoked with the outcome.
First pic is just factory guard...
They only have 3 color options, black, clear, white....
