Looks like those folks over at Tacoma4G got the creator to add a VIN decoder to the sheet.

According to the guy's thread on Tacoma4G, the spreadsheet is toast and won't be updated. Apparently, he is a Toyota employee and got freaked out when they started looking into his social media activity.

If they are really a Toyota employee, they are stupid.

imagine risking your job and possible property theft charges just to help out some folk online.

    was he charging for it?

Accepting tips through "buy me a cup of coffee" and then allowed T4G to provide sponsorship so I am sure they gave him something.

not sure why toyota should care.... it helps the consumer find the right truck... oh wait.. that's the issue... toyota has no desire to help the consumer find the right anything.

no, I’d imagine it’s simply because it’s their data and he pulled it to use it for his own benefit without permission

I’m sure you’d agree it is scummy if a guy in a office was stealing staplers to sell to people who need them to benefit himself

not the best example, but the best I got

The allocation list wasn't his list. This guy, trainer steve, was giving status on people's orders as to where in the build sequence they were based on VIN numbers.
He was showing screenshots of proprietary Toyota software. That is what Toyota didn't like. They asked him to stop.

The allocation list was compiled by someone else and was somehow accessing info from Toyota that is not available to the public and apparently either Toyota itself or the dealer network was not happy about that.
I suspect it was the dealer network. they wouldn't want you to have the info to look elsewhere for the truck you really want, rather than settle for whatever they have on the lot.
Toyota wouldn't care where you bought your truck from, just that you bought one.

Here is the link to the original allocation spreadsheet that he created. About a week ago, he posted an explanation about why he was abandoning the project, and said he was in the process of deleting all of his posts with the help of the mods at T4G. Looking at the thread today, I can see that all of his posts are now gone.

Lots of flaming and conspiracy theories going on here. What I recall he said was that Toyota did not tell him to stop doing the spreadsheet. They didn't even know about it. He said he had posted some information on FB on an unrelated subject, and they found out about it and started asking about his SM activity. So, to avoid any problems of possibly posting proprietary information, he decided to ctrl+alt+del the whole thing. Dude's a hero in my book.

I don't know where you are getting that idea that Trainer Steve did the allocation list, but it's not true.
here is the link to the post where he was giving build status updates and explained why he had to stop He was NOT the author of the allocation list. that was someone else.

It was bound to happen. Unauthorized release of proprietary information will get you fired or in big legal trouble.
