    Hello... has been awhile since it nosed around in here.
    I have a `03 Tacoma (V6 - 4x4 / 4-door) ... I need to replace the washer fluid tank. The parts fiche lists two tanks;
    1. one "with" a low fluid warning light connection and corresponding symbol on instrument panel. #... -04060
    2. one "without" a low fluid warning light connection and no waring symbol on instrument panel. #... -04050

    I need to replace my washer fluid tank. I've studied the dash symbols with ignition on to try and find a washer fluid warning light that comes on with ignition triggered. I have the usual warning lights that come on when ignition is switched on, but I don't find a low washer fluid light symbol anywhere.

    2003 Tacoma Instrument Panel.jpg If there is a "low washer fluid warning light", where on the instrument panel would it be?

    Is it possible my rig is NOT equipped with the low warning light? I need to order a new tank, but want to get the correct one. Appreciate some insight. Thanks...

    The low washer fluid would be in one of the two bottom outer most (3 - Service reminder indicator and indicator lights) positions.

    I bet your truck has the indicator. Just check the existing tank to see if it's got a plug on it or not :notsure:

    I was wondering the same thing on my ‘04 PreRunner, then my light came on between speedometer and gas gauge(bottom right). You could just use the washer till the water runs low enough, the tank would also have an electrical plug-in to make that light come on. I believe you can access through passenger side wheel well by removing the liner and check.

    Okay, thanks for responding. The pic of the instrument display with all the spaces listed as #3 is my clue. Not every light comes on with the key triggered - everything black and not activated had me hoodwinked. I'll double check, but do believe its wired. The neck of the tank exposed below the cap is rotten. The tank still holds water, as I can trigger the squirt gun on the lever with wiper controls. Appreciate the response from all. Thanks again...

    Mine is an '03 and went through this last year, follow along in this thread.

    As you've deduced there are two variations - one with a hole in the bottom for the reservoir level sensor and one without. There are also two sizes, can't recall the exact numbers ATM but you want the larger capacity.

    You'll pay through the nose for an OEM and it doesn't come with a cap. This is one of the cases an aftermarket replacement is more prudent, try Rock Auto. They come with a cap and most come with a new pump. Unfortunately I can't find a neck-only item, the OEM ones don't separate at the neck but the aftermarket ones do (still can't buy it separate LOL)

    To be absolutely sure, jack up the passenger front right, remove the wheel, remove the 4 bolts of the washer guard (8 or 10mm as I recall.) You can then clearly see the connections and whether it has two holes - one for the pump (with hoses) and one for the sensor (no hoses, just wires.)

    I don't think it's a good idea to install those with the nails though.

    :-D
