I've got a 2007 (TRD Sport, 4WD, with 86K miles and a rusted frame, but everything else is in incredible condition. It's been to 3 different mechanics that all sort of say the same thing - keep driving it, but one day it'll be a problem - could be 3 years, could be 8. As most of you know, it's the rear end that's suffering.

Anyway, this is an inherited truck and I never had any intentions of keeping it. I'm looking for a buyer that knows the rust situation and is comfortable with it. As a daily driver, it's super nice - reliable, etc with the exception of the rust that will one day need to be addressed.

Are there mechanics/welders across the country that buy something like this, knowing they know how to deal with it? Or that want everything else??

I'm located in Golden, CO. IMG_0788.jpg

If you are going to sell it, just list it and let the buyer decide if he wants to buy it. That’s how it works

Too bad the frame is almost a goner,86k is super low miles for a 2007.
Post pictures of the frame so we can see if maybe it can be repaired.

Welcome, was the truck originally from Colorado? I remember years ago Colorado was supposed to be the best climate to buy trucks from but guess the state got cheap and started salting the hell out of your roads

Saf-T-Caps might be an option depending on the frame's overall condition.

I always heard they used mag chloride and plus the dry air meant you didn't get rust as bad, despite the snow.

What I was hoping to get from my OP was if there are Toyota specialists that buy a vehicle like this that I could get in touch with? Those that work on so many Tacomas that they'd want everything but the frame. As opposed to trying to cast a wide net with a facebook marketplace or craigslist ad, I could simply connect with them directly.

If any of you know of those, that's wonderful. Appreciate any leads

If the truck is originally from the Midwest it’s most likely fubard op can get a rust free frame from SoCal or Arizona and spend a few grand to have someone do the swap but it’s probably too toast for even a safety cap

They are not being "cute", they are asking (like the rest of us) for photos of your frame. This question has been coming up now for 15+ years, if we can see the affected areas then you better believe we can tell you if it's bad or not.

I’m a Toyota specialist, I’ll give you 2k for it and that’s generous considering your refusal to post pics of the frame, send me your address I’ll head out tomorrow morning with my car trailer

Lol you ask for help from the forum then deny help from its users. Pick a lane

Any buyer could be a potential customer since we know nothing about its frame condition. How is anyone supposed to recommend a buyer in good faith?
