It's a pretty safe bet that if they slap Reese's on something, I'm probably going to try it. This was pretty darn good.

And because it was so good yesterday, I made another this morning.

    We finally found one....

I am just laughing because a normal person kinda pencils in and uses a different pan size for their bakes.

I...the engineer....have a couple different pans I can make sourdough in. I have compared them in size to the recipe, and then converted (in grams) how much of each thing to use for each of those pans...

So trying something new. Fried banana chips. Not sure on the variety but got them at Mexican grocery place. Anyways peeled and sliced thin, deep fried then soaked in sugar solution, fried again. So i used time from a video i saw but it was a bit much. First batch burned. Second was closer to being right...20240424_221259.jpg

    Third batch was good.20240424_221252.jpg

So my take is make thicker slices...1/8inch max, let the plantain ripen a little. You can use green. But if they were slightly ripe it would be better.

    Different video but same idea.

    A Cuban staple.

Also, try using plantain as a potato substitute in potato salad.

How different is this from dehydrating, beside using the oil flavor wise?

Pork Ribs - dry rub, wrapped in foil and baked at 375 for 3 hours, cut the foil open and finish under the broiler.

    White basmati, zucchini, sweet pepper.

Just bringing this up again cuz I'm going to master it. I did bacon wrapped corn with jalepenos. 4 went in. 2 came out. Remember which way you rolled the bacon because if it unrolls you got a big ass grease fire. And 2 came out. And were spectacular!

10lb batch of boiled peanuts. Trying a new method. All day soak, changing water a few times. Par boil in clean water for 30 minutes in my 1500w electric brew kettle. Hot pack into quart jars with brine, chili de arboles and cajun seasoning then pressure can them for an hour.

Edit: I found some Carolina reaper pepper in my pantry that I dried and ground. In the words of Paris Hilton, these peanuts will be "hot".
