Anyone else having significant windshield/hood glare issues on silver colored Tacoma’s? Almost no point in using the lightbar with the glare this Cali raised lightbar is causing...

I’ve got a quicksand, I do get flare but not too bad when I angled the bar up to its fixed position, pointed down the road. If it’s pointed down in any way it gets glare.

Well, I tried just about everything to fix the glare caused from the lightbar on the windshield. The only option I had was to move the lightbar back and make some additional brackets. I tried just about every position of brackets and fairing position, including moving the lightbar back and forth. This setup allows the fairing to block light cast on the hood/windshield. It looks ridiculous From the sides, but it makes the lightbar functional.

Hope this helps someone I the future. Caliraised or Prinsu should design an adjustable visor that can be made for lightbars to help fix this issue. Just a thought

Hi there! That was something we fixed while designing our rack. The ALWD will allow your LED bar to stay protected behind our adjustable fairing when not in use, keeping you street legal and reducing almost all wind noise from the rack while driving. Once you hit the trail, you can adjust your ALWD to the down position in 30 seconds or less, revealing your LED bar and allowing it to shine down the trail while also preventing unwanted hood glare.

I'm having the same issue with mine. The bar feels like it's pointing at the sky but it can't tilt down anymore and there's still a lot of hood glare especially when the truck is dirty.

I'd like the bar to sit lower and further back (and be able to tilt lower) like yours.

How'd you make the bracket? Do you have any additional photos of it?

Has anyone else came up with a good solution to this?

    Thanks in advance!

Yes if you mount it to the back extrusion bar it should sit back more.

    Thanks,

Oldie but goodie and probably the right place to post. Over the weekend I installed the Prinsu rack and the 42" slim light bar. The mount I used for the light to the rack is Prinsu's mount. I mounted it to the first cross bar and not the cross bar behind the wind fairing. The problem I am having is the light is aimed too high, it is interfering with the bar so I cannot rotate it down anymore. See photo...

After reading through this whole tread, I see that some mounted it to the cross bar under the wind fairing. (I believe this is how it was intended to be installed). Anyway, I see both options and am looking for some feedback on how I should mount mine. @CaliRaisedLed
