Reverse Light

The bracket is a piece of angle iron drilled to use available holes in the original trailer plug socket mount and the bumper. Angle leg size chosen to just match the lamp - then a flat bar welded underneath to make a deep channel.

After using this to good effect for 7+ years, it has survived a few offroad impacts and still works well. The extra added illumination when you hit reverse seems to help scare away yoyos that try to cut behind you while backing in parking lots. However- the advantage of the rear light is lost when you get out to deal with the trailer or a recovery rope (because the light is controlled "on" by selecting reverse). If I have my wif hold the truck brakes locked while I'm out there - fine - otherwise using the "E-brake" doesn't thrill me. It needs an aux switch to turn on the "back-up" lights when needed - located in the bed rear, a cubby, or somewhere protected / handy /weather proof. Powered only when the truck is running would be my choice.
