20200505 - Corbeaus Arrive

I have been wanting new seats for at least a year or two now. Was torn between the Corbeau Sport and Trailcats. I found these new black leather Sport seats on eBay for a great deal that I couldn't pass up. After unboxing I was super excited.

Yes, I bought the brackets. They're expensive, and if I was a better welder I could probably replicate them, they aren't very complicated. They are plug and play however, which is nice.

The seats are great, I used to get some lower back discomfort after driving the truck for more than 15-20 minutes, and that's been eliminated. The first thing I noticed is how firm the seats are compared to the old stock seats. It's something you notice with almost every action in the truck. When accelerating I would notice the extra support in the back, and when cornering I would notice the much beefier bolsters.

My complaints are relatively minor. When you attach the seat belt buckle to the bracket, you'll notice there's not much clearance between the end of the bolt and the seat. Depending on how far back you like your seat, that bolt may slightly indent into the seat bottom and fabric. I covered this bolt and nut with a strip of packing foam sheet, and then wrapped that in black electrical tape. It doesn't keep the bolt from pushing into the seat bottom, but it makes sure that it won't scratch the leather. Second complaint is that the seat headrest is somewhat far back in comparison to the back. I have to tilt my head back fairly far to use it, which may be a safety feature to prevent whiplash, not sure. I bought a little neck pillow off of Amazon and that's worked out well for me. Hope you enjoy your seats.
